I'm in need of blu-ray burning software and I'm looking for suggestions to consider. I recently had to reinstall my Media Composer and related software and I've had no success in getting Avid DVD by Sonic to successfully install.
I ALWAYS get the Invalid Key response when it tries to validate at Sonic. I've followed past threads relating to cleaning out the windows registry, I've tried installing all versions that I have a valid license for, both 6.1.1 and 6.4.4. Any recommendations? Just casual use.
Any thoughts on Sony DVD Architect Pro 6.0? Best Regards. CS2 is also not meant to be free but for people who previously owned CS2. Plus is is unlikely it will burn discs properly on Windows 7/8/10 and you would need to make an ISO.
Encore CS6 is not being developed but you can still rent it if you rent Premiere Pro CC. I use Encore and Architect and have a preference for Encore, but given that you have to rent it and Architect is a one off payment of about £120 I would use Architect if using Avid.
Sony have not said Architect is EOL in the way that Adobe have said Encore is, but it has not had any changes for years, just like Encore. I use AvidDVD for DVD's and some time also for BD's. For BD authoring I now use BDAuthor 2.6 from DVDLogic. This software requires basic knowledge of the BD specification, as it runs on a low level User Interface. With htis software you can program any feature, such as show extra information based on the currently running video title and play position, multiple language support, etc. It basically supports all functions contained in the BD specification. A simpler software, which is running on a higher UI-level is EasyBD and BlueRay Studio from the same company.

Topic covers how to output Motion projects to play on DVDs and other optical discs.
However, I have no experience with those. The company also offers some other software, such as Menu-Editors, DVD-to-BD conversion, BD-demuxer, BD-Re-authoring.
For more information see: I have also worked with Sony's DVD-Architect Pro version 6. However, it does not support language selection, when creating a playlist. This is a bug, as the user interface lets you select a defined language, however, the created disk does not play the selected language. I had reported this issue to Sony two years ago with not even an answer, or any reaction. Apart from this issue, DVD-Architect is very good.

Sef: Yes, I used the correct key for each downloadable version. They all run home to mama Sonic to validate, and then fail. I've uninstalled the software, sifted through the windows register looking for and removed remnants of Sonic and Roxio. Always the same result. Too bad, I always thought Avid DVD worked pretty well for making blu-rays.
If there is some other magic trick to making it work then it is beyond my ability to find it in the forums or knowledge base. Others: Thanks for your suggestions and comments. I'm probably going to get Sony DVD Architect Pro 6.
I see that it comes bundled with Vegas Pro 13 in a downloadable form for a total of about $320 at B&H. Stand alone seems to be about $150. The package seems like a decent price. I'm hesitant to try the simple consumer burning packages. My experience with this level of software is that it litters your computer with too much unwanted/buggy stuff. (Versus wanted/buggy stuff at the 'professional' level ).
